Unlocking Access Control Password and Front Panel in a "CDi 2020" CDi1000, CDi2000 and CDi4000

!!! Important !!!!
This update is only for CDi 1000, CDi 2000 and CDi 4000 amplifiers with firmware v1.4.0.0 and higher.
The CDi2020 version of CDi1000, CDi2000 and CDi4000 amplifiers started shipping in mid-2023.
The firmware was updated to v1.4.0.1 in January 2024, to display the correct version on the front panel.
PLEASE NOTE:
You MUST ensure you are using a PC and USB cable that is in good order and working properly. Poor quality USB cables and/or faulty USB ports on your PC can cause the firmware process to fail, which will render your CDi unit inoperable and unrecoverable!
Tools you will need:
- Good quality USB A to USB B cable. Must be USB 2.0 or better!
- Windows PC with Windows 10/11 Operating System
- Audio Architect v2.55.2 or higher
- CLoader v219 Download Here
Run CLoader, confirm firmware version:
WARNING:
Failure to properly confirm the initial firmware version will result in your amplifier becoming inoperable. If this occurs, it will be necessary to return the amplifier to a service center for re-programming.
Run the CLoader_ver2_19 application, confirm Micro Ver and Flash Ver show as v1.4.0.0 or higher.
- If the versions show as 1.3.0.0 or lower, you must use the files in this article:

- Only if the versions show as 1.4.0.0 or higher, proceed with the instructions below.
Load the firmware into the amplifier:
Click Load File and select the CDI-1401.s (or higher version) file. The firmware update should begin:
When the update is finished, the amp will reboot. The front panel should revert to the DSP OFF preset and it will be unlocked:
If it does not reboot or the display does not revert to DSP OFF, you should manually reboot the amp by turning it off from the front power button, wait 30 seconds, then turn it back on
The new firmware version numbers should now be reflected in CLoader:
The firmware update process is now complete. Be sure to use Audio Architect v2.55.2.2 or later when trying to connect your CDi 2020 series amplifier for configuring. It will not work with previous versions.
