Will the CHM99 work without the DPA adapter connected?

The adapter converts the phantom power input from the nominal 48vDC to a lower regulated voltage that drives the condenser module. Attempting to use the CHM99 without the DPA adaptor can potentially damage the microphone and is not recommended.
