In this tutorial, we cover the Toggle object in the UI Design view of AVX Architect. The Toggle is a simple control element for binary states, typically used for on/off functions in custom panels. Learn how to add a Toggle, customize its appearance, and see what it looks like in a finished control panel for intuitive user interaction.

In this video, we’re going to continue covering the Ui Design view and look at the Toggle object. The Toggle object is a binary control that only supports parameters with two states. The Toggle object can be found in the Common Controls section of the Control Library.
Parameters can be dragged directly from the Parameters Tree onto the Toggle, and I’ve set up a gain object for this example to tie in the mute function. The Properties window contains the usual naming, workspace location, and sizing options. The object can also be interacted with directly in the workspace to move or resize. Thumb radius is the size of this colored circle on the Toggle object.
In the State Styles section of the properties window, we can change the appearance of both the on and off states. Color and opacity can be changed for each of the background, border, and Thumb. Since this is a mute, let’s set the thumb color for the On state to be red, then I’m going to make the border of the Off state green. Launch the panel and we can see the two states of the Toggle in action.
