Updated at October 30th, 2026

In this video, we introduce AVX Architect, the software used to configure Soundweb OMNI DSP, I/O Expanders, and build custom control panels. Get a quick overview of the dashboard, explore key menu options, and take a look at the different views inside a project that help you design and configure your audio system.

Welcome to the AVX Architect Video Manual Series. In this video, we’re going to briefly introduce you to the AVX Architect software and cover some of the workspace and menu options. AVX Architect is a program for defining and configuring Soundweb Omni projects and creating control panels for AVX Control.
After launching AVX Architect, you will see a splash screen and then be presented with the Dashboard. The Dasboard is where you view, create, import, and export projects. This hamburger icon in the top left is where you can access help content, the End User License Agreement, Credits for licensed software, import a project, and version information. There is also a list of other AVX apps that can be launched, as well as a list of recent projects you have opened. Clicking the X in the upper left will close this window and take you back to the Dashboard. Each of these tiles represents a project, and the top right of this window has a search and various filtering options to view your projects. Hovering the mouse over a project, you will find additional options using this ellipses menu button to pin the project, edit the project name, export the project, or delete it completely. Opening a project or creating a new project will take you into Configure mode.
This is where your system hardware and configuration are defined. This mode is divided into 4 areas, the Top pane, Left Pane, Right Pane, and the Workspace. In the Top Pane, the hamburger menu is still here with the same options as in the Dashboard. In the middle is the various views we can switch between. The System View, for defining physical characteristics of the system and network. Virtual View, for defining the signal flow and processing of the system. And Design View, for defining the Graphical User Interface panels for AVX control and setting up external controllers. This bar below the views is the Edit Bar, where you will find undo/redo options with history, alignment and z-order options, our resource usage information, and zoom controls. The virtual and design view also have these controls, along with some others that are unique to those views that we’ll cover later on.
In all views, the Right Pane will show the properties and various unique options for selected devices or objects. The Left Pane will show different things depending on the view we are in. In the System View, it displays the list of configurable and illustrative devices that can be added to the project. In the Virtual View, it displays the configurable devices in the Component List and the Virtual Library consisting of our Audio and Logic processing objects. The first time you open the Design View, the Left Pane will be blank with only the option to add control interfaces. Once one has been created, you’ll see the created interface list, a section of Ui components for adding to the interfaces, and a parameter list of bindable parameters to control from the interfaces.
