In this video, we’re going to quickly cover the rear panel of the OMNI 256p and 512p Digital Signal Processors.
Each DSP has dual redundant power supply, Dante, and HControl ports. The 512p has two pairs of Dante ports to accommodate 512 channels at 96k. When set to 96k, these A and B connections will each have 256 channels at 96k and will show as two devices in Dante controller. Check out our videos on Dante for more information. Pressing the Locate button will cause the LEDs on the front of the processor to flash. The processor will also flash in AVX Manager, and the pressing of this button can be used to trigger logic sequences and events.
These processors have a USB connection on the back panel, but this connection does not have any functionality and is intended only for service and repair technicians. BNC Wordclock in and out connections are available on both processors. BNC is always the highest priority and the Wordclock out is always available. We’ll cover this in greater detail in an upcoming video. Next is the GPIO. Each processor has 8 GPIO, as well as two ground and two 5V reference connections. These processors have vents on the back, and air flows through them from front to back, which is different than the Omni Expanders that vents on the side.
