Logic Source - Logic Begins | AVX Architect
In this tutorial, we cover the Logic Source object in AVX Architect’s Virtual View, the simplest way to provide a low/high or continuous output for logic control. Learn about the three types of Logic Source objects, where to find them in the Virtual Library, and explore conditions for high and low states along with other properties and options.

In this video, we’ll continue to explore the Virtual view of AVX Architect and look at the Logic Source Object. Logic Source is found in the Virtual view, under the “Begin” section of the Logic processing objects. The Logic Source gives a high or low output depending on the state of its control parameter. It can be configured to provide a binary, multi-state, or variable 0 to 100% output. The primary use for this will be in creating a User control on a Contrio, HControl, or another Harman controller. The light on the logic object design block indicates the current state of the output.
The Logic Source factory panel will be determined by its class, and the default class is Binary. The Binary factory panel will display a single on/off button to change the output state. The class can be changed in the Options settings on the right side of the screen. Also available to all classes of Logic Source is an Auto Off setting found here in the Options that will automatically set the Logic Source to OFF after a pre-defined ON period, especially useful in touch-panel designs as a method of de-bouncing the touch operation.
Let’s look at the other classes. The Continuous class will configure the Logic Source to have a variable output between 0 and 100%. The default panel provides a knob with bump up and down buttons, and the current value will be displayed on the object block in the design view. In the options, the Bump Percent setting will define the amount of change in percentage when the bump buttons are pressed. The last class is Multi-state, which will configure the Logic Source to have more than two discrete states. The number of States is changed here in the options. The Connectors setting will choose if there are discreet connectors on the output or a single variable output that is divided into percentages. In the factory panel, you are presented with a drop-down to select the state and next/previous buttons to toggle between them.
