In this video, we’ll continue to explore the Virtual View of AVX Architect and look at the Delay object. The Delay is found in the virtual view within the audio processing objects. It is a basic delay used for delaying an audio signal by a predetermined time or distance without affecting the signal in any other way.
Let’s look at some of the parameters in the Delay factory panel. The controls for the delay are very simple, and the delay time is presented to us in three different units. These units are time, shown in milliseconds, and distance, shown by meters and feet/inches. The value can be typed in directly, or by using the bump up and down buttons. These units will always reflect the same delay time, so changing any unit will also change the others in tandem.
At the top of the factory panel, we have our usual object name, lock button, and selection mode switch. On the right, the “Properties” window has the usual naming, workspace location, and DSP allocation options. The “Options” section contains the usual channel count of the object block. The maximum delay time can also be set here in the Options section, up to a maximum of 100 seconds. For example, this could be useful for limiting delay time if users are allowed delay control from a custom panel.
