Connecting to an Existing System | Dashboard - AVX Architect
This video shows you how to connect to an existing system that uses Soundweb OMNI hardware for the first time using AVX Architect software. You’ll learn the essential setup steps, including downloading AVX Architect, verifying hardware connections, connecting to Soundweb OMNI devices, importing the system file, and syncing parameters for a smooth integration process.

In this video, we’re going to walk you through how to connect to an existing system using AVX Architect. The first step is to download and install the AVX Architect software. Check out our video on installing the software if this is your first time working with this system.
The next thing we want to do is verify the physical network connections. To connect to this system, the computer running AVX Architects needs to be on the same network as the HControl ports on the Soundweb Omni device. Omni devices have a primary and secondary HControl port, and we want to be on the same network as the primary connection. Once the physical connection has been checked, open AVX Architect. From the hamburger menu in the top-left of the Dashboard, open AVX Manager. If everything is connected correctly, AVX Manager will show the connected devices and their information in the table. IP Address will show here, and they should be in the same range as your computer. If your devices aren’t showing here in AVX Manager, pause this video and check out our Network Settings and troubleshooting video. If your devices show here, go ahead and head back to the Dashboard in AVX Architect.
From the Dashboard, click “Import from Device Network”. A “Discovered Projects” window will pop up. This will show any project files found on the device network by tiles. The tiles will show the project name, the time it was last deployed, and the description. You can also select “Devices” to see which devices the project file was found on. If there were different files on each device, we would see each of those project files as a separate tile. Click “Import” on the project you want to load. The project will be imported and will show on the Dashboard. If you try and open this project, AVX Architect may present you with a Project Migration window if the project was made in an older version of AVX Architect and if any conversions or updates need to take place. Click on migrate and the project will update before taking you into the project file.
Once in the project, we see our two devices in the System View. Click “Enable Networking” in the top-right of the AVX Architect window. The devices will turn a yellow and show “Matched”, indicating that it has successfully identified the devices. Next, let’s go online by clicking “Deploy and Connect”, also in the top-right corner. The Deployment Wizard window will open and the devices will be visible here as well. Notice that these Configuration and Parameter Sync sections are equals signs. This is because the settings in the file match those currently on the device, which makes sense because we went directly from importing to deploying without making any changes. If any changes were made between those steps, you might see a Send and Receive option on either of these. If you followed these instructions and didn’t make any intended changes, but still see a send and receive option, receiving might be the safest option so that you receive the parameters from the device that were on the original configuration, and not push any accidental changes you might have made.
Once ready, you can click “Deploy and Connect”. AVX Architect will do a quick firmware check on the devices before going live and will let you know if there’s any firmware mismatch that should be addressed. These devices will turn green once the check is complete, and you can click “Continue” to let the software do the post-deployment check and return to the project file view. Now our devices are green here in the workspace and show Connected as well.
