Summary:

• Reports indicated instances where JBL 705P monitor cabinets were not sitting flat or stable when placed on a surface. Analysis by Tijuana (TJ) manufacturing revealed two contributing assembly factors:

1. The manual cabinet wrap/squaring process allowed joint corners to separate or form gaps before fastening.
    
2. Excess sanding on units treated with primer created uneven "ramps" along the cabinet bottom.

Assembly Work Instructions (VJI0563 & VJI0566) have been updated to enforce cabinet squaring, temporary taping during wrap closure, and mandatory quality inspections to prevent uneven bottom surfaces.

Troubleshooting & Inspection Guidance:

If a 705P studio monitor is reported as unstable or rocking on a flat table:

Step 1: Visual and Surface Inspection

• Check Cabinet Flatness: Place the unit on a verified flat table or reference surface and check for rocking or uneven contact.
   
• Inspect Joints & Seams: Check the cabinet corners and bottom seams for visible gaps, separation, or uneven finish contours/ramping.

Step 2: Resolution

• Attempting to disassemble and re-assemble an affected cabinet field unit will not correct the structural defect.
   
• Units affected by cabinet warp or bottom unevenness should be replaced under warranty.
