Initial Device Setup in Performance
Technical Support Guide
To connect to your SRX900 series' speakers, download the JBL Performance software and install it on your Apple or Windows machine.
Begin by connecting each speaker to your network switch or router with Ethernet cables, then power them on and wait for them to fully boot. Once they’re online, open Performance and go to Main Menu in the top left, then select Settings. In the Settings window, select Network Connectivity. Add a new connection, and select the network adapter linked to your speaker network.

Your project will open in Design Mode. Use the Product Library along the left side to add the speakers you plan to connect. Each device in the project should correspond to a physical speaker on the network.

Next, launch NetSetter to discover devices. All detected units will appear automatically. If a speaker is found but will not connect, adjust its IP settings in NetSetter (enable DHCP or assign a static address so your computer and speakers share the same subnet).

Switch Performance to Connect Mode and match discovered devices to their workspace counterparts, either automatically by ID or manually by dragging. Once matched, click Connect & Send to upload the configuration. A green status indicator confirms that each speaker is online and synchronized.

If any units have incompatible firmware, update them through NetSetter, then rediscover. If no devices appear or they fail to connect, recheck the selected network adapter, IP alignment, and multicast settings. Unmanaged switches typically allow multicast automatically, while managed ones may need it enabled. Also, confirm your firewall isn’t blocking Performance.
