Written by Ernesto Hernandez

Updated at January 28th, 2026

If you're new to BSS, start with this video.

This is the first video in the BSS Hardware Basics video series and covers the steps for removing the lid and installing cards in a BSS chassis.   If you have never done either of these things, this video is “recommended” viewing.   This video covers general steps for most cards but if you are installing digital I/O cards then the “Digital Cards” video is also recommended viewing.

Topics include removing and replacing screws and the chassis lid, installing and securing cards, and connecting internal ribbon cables.
