Frequency Mapping on DMS800 2020

Note:

DMS800 2020 wireless systems can be distinguished from earlier DMS800 systems by a psi ( Ψ ) symbol that can be found in multiple locations:

  • on the product box label
  • on the right side, front panel of the DSR receiver
  • on the back of the DPT800 and under the battery cover of the DHT800

  • DMS800 frequency mapping charts showing the maximum preset/channel count can be found in a separate document available at the link below.  The Frequency Mapping page contains the new frequency charts and channel counts by preset groups.  The TV page details the new TV-channel optimized preset groups. The maximal number of preset groups in each country group is 67.
These files can also be downloaded from the Documents and Downloads section on the DMS800 product page, see https://www.akg.com/dms800-system

  • Available from the same link above is a frequency mapping zip file (53MB) which contains separate PDF files showing the frequencies which pertain to the new DMS800 systems and the frequencies which pertain to the previous DMS800 systems.  These files are labeled “new" and “old" for easy comparison and reference purposes.

  • The DSR800 receiver stores the country blocks, frequency blocks with corresponding power limits and frequency presets.  The DPT800/DHT800 transmitters store only the RF hardware power limit and the lower/upper frequency limits.  Using new transmitters with earlier receivers can potentially lead to selecting a frequency outside of the new range resulting in “wrong device" error.  Workarounds for this symptom:

    • Select a Group/Channel of which frequency is within the new range:
      • Band 1: 550.1 – 662.9MHz
      • Band 2: 730.1 – 831.9MHz

    • Manually set a frequency within the new range
    • During Quick Setup, use the "LIMIT FREQ. RANGE" option
