How to Setup Cascade Mode with Ui24r
To use cascade mode you will need the following items:
- Two Ui24rs (They both must be on the same firmware 3.x)
- 3 Ethernet Cables
- Gigabit ethernet switch
Physical Connections
- Use ethernet port 1 from the primary Ui24r to the gigabit ethernet switch
- Use ethernet port 1 from the secondary Ui24r to the gigabit ethernet switch
- Use ethernet port 2 from the primary Ui24r and connect it to the secondary Ui24r Ethernet Port 2
Primary Ui24r
- Log into the Primary Ui24r
- Select the settings tab
- Select Cascade
- Turn Cascade on
- Select the Role of the primary Ui24r (primary or master)
- Input the secondary IP address (10.10.2.2) in the space below
Procedure
- Log into the Ui24r designated as your primary Ui24r
- Select the settings gear
- Select the network tab
- Make note of the Ethernet IP address by default it is 10.10.2.1
- Log into the Ui24r designated as secondary Ui24r
- Select the settings gear
- Select the network tab
- If your Ui24r is on the default settings you will note that the IP address for the LAN port is 10.10.2.1. This will need to be changed.
- Select the config button (you may be prompted for a username and password by default this is admin/admin)
- Select LAN Configuration
- Change the IP address from 10.10.2.1 to 10.10.2.2
- Save the changes and reboot the Ui24r
