Question:

What is the pan and tilt adjustment feature used for in the MAC Aura PXL?

Answer:

Pan and tilt end stop adjustment may be needed after a firmware update, parts replacement, or other situations that may cause the CAN system to lose the store values for the pan and tilt.  Upon powering up the fixture, the display may show the error message “PTCM" P/T SENSOR ADJUST.  The pan and tilt adjustment feature normally resolves this error and many other pan and tilt issues you may encounter.  This procedure only takes a couple of minutes.

Procedure:

  1. Make sure that the fixture is held securely and in place, also that the display facing you, then apply power.
  2. Enter the menus and go to SERVICE → ADJUST→PAN/TILT AT END STOP.
  3. Select STEP 1 and press ENTER.
  4. Rotate the yoke clockwise (when looking from the top of the head towards the base) until it  reaches the mechanical end stop at the limit of clockwise pan, hold in place.
  5. Then tilt the front lens away from display side of the base.
  6. Hold it there but be prepared to let go as it will move in the next step.
  7. Press ENTER again and give the head a few seconds to move and carry out basic self-adjustment.
  8. When the head has finished moving, press MENU to exit STEP 1.
  9. Select STEP 2 and press ENTER.
  10. Repeat step 4 through 6 as described above and give the head approximately two minutes to move and carry out more precise self-adjustment.
  11. When the head has finished moving, press MENU to exit the menus. Pan and Tilt are now correctly adjusted.
