Table of Contents

What you will need: Step 1: Making the Physical Connections Step 2: Starting up in WinControl Step 3: Detecting the Intellivox Step 4: Adjusting Parameters

This guide assumes use of the [Program Set, Universal USB (DUR386612)]

What you will need:

  • Windows PC, with WinControl software installed
  • 5-pin XLR to WAGO cable
  • USB-A to USB-B cable
  • AXYS USB-to-RS485 interface
  • Powered Intellivox loudspeaker

Step 1: Making the Physical Connections

  • Plug the WAGO connector into the loudspeaker’s network socket (5 pins), then plug the XLR end into the RS-485 output of the USB-to-RS485 interface.
  • Connect the USB-to-RS485 interface to your computer with the USB-A to USB-B cable.
  • Connect AC power to Intellivox unit.

Step 2: Starting up in WinControl

  • Launch the WinControl software.
  • In WinControl, go to Options tab in the menu bar and select Communications Options.

  • Make sure the “Offline” box is unchecked in the top-right of this menu.
  • Select the correct COM port for your USB interface, (COM3 -> USB Serial Port).
  • Select OK to apply changes and close the Communications Options window.

Step 3: Detecting the Intellivox

  • If properly connected, the Intellivox will appear as a green rectangle in WinControl after closing the Communications Options window.

  • Its model number and network address will be shown.
  • If the connected unit does not appear, select Netscan from the Command tab in the menu bar to search for devices again.
  • If still nothing, check all cables, power, and COM port settings.

At this time, you can choose to Remove All Virtual Units from the Scene tab in the menu bar to reduce visual clutter,  then Save Scene As from the File tab to rename and save the Scene in relation to your project.  You can also select Address from the Parameters tab in the menu bar, or by right-clicking the green intellivox icon, to modify the Address of the connected unit.

Step 4: Adjusting Parameters

  • Double-click on the green Intellivox icon to open the Control Parameters menu.

  • In this menu, you can adjust various settings, like beam shape, input priority, alignment delays, EQ filters, and more.  It will default to the Beam tab, showing Rapid DDS.
  • If you have not generated a Beam file in the DDA software, you can use the Geometry section to design and upload a basic beam shape quickly with the Rapid DDS tool.
  • If you do have a beam file, click 'DDA file' towards the bottom left of the menu, then select the Browse folder to locate your beam file.

  • Select your DDA file, then click Apply at the bottom left to upload the file to your Intellivox.

You are now connected and ready to fine-tune based on the specifics of your install!

If you have any questions about this process, or are running into issues with connecting to your unit, please reach out to Technical Support at 844-776-4899, option 3.
