How To Load TPDesign3 on a Windows 10 Computer

Overview:
TPDesign3 is an old application. It has since been replaced by TPDesign4 and TPDesign5, but all of these applications will only work with their corresponding touch panel generation. TPD3 is for G3 panels, TPD4 is for G4 panels, and TPD5 is for G5 / Varia panels. It’s rare, but there are some systems that still have a G3 panel, or are replacing that panel with a newer version. If you want to modify a G3 panel file, you will need TPDesign3. Since the application has not been updated in quite some time, people have trouble getting it to load on Windows 10 PC’s.
Installation:
There are 2 files to load:
- setupTP3.exe
- TPDesign3.patch.199.to.200.exe
Right-click on ‘setupTP3.exe’.
Left-click on ‘Properties’.
Click the ‘Compatibility’ tab.
Check ‘Run this program in compatibility mode’. Select Windows XP (Service Pack 2). Also, check ‘Run this program as an administrator’.
Double-click on the setuptp3.exe. Click ‘Next’ and follow the prompts.
Right-click on the ‘TPDesign3patch.199.to.200.exe’ file. Click the ‘Compatibility’ tab and select WindowsXP(SP2) again.
Right-click and ‘Run as administrator’.
Follow the installation prompts.
Launch TPDesign3 and enjoy!
