Summery:
In order for HiQnet Audio Architect to communicate with your HiQnet devices as well as your iOS device, your network must be set up properly. Your Windows computer must have a network adapter connected to a wireless router, they must be on the same subnet, and you must be connected to at least one HiQnet device.
Prerequisite:
- Make sure your computer, wireless router, and HiQnet devices are powered ON.
- Start Audio Architect.
- Verify that Audio Architect is communicating with the router and your device(s).
NOTE:
If you have difficulty connecting Audio Architect to your network, you may need to adjust your Windows firewall settings. If you are working on a company computer, and are having trouble connecting to an iOS device with Audio Architect, consult your IT manager.
NOTE:
If your network uses statically assigned IP addresses, the iOS device subnet mask must match the control computer subnet mask.

Advanced Network Setup:
If you wish to use the specific IP address of your Ethernet adapter:
- In Windows, click Start.
- In the “Search programs and files” type “cmd”, hit Enter. cmd.exe will launch.
- Type “ipconfig”, hit Enter.
- This will bring up Windows IP Configuration.
- In Audio Architect, click “Network Connectivity” and select “All Adapters” in the Ethernet Interfaces window.
- Click the “Remove Connection” button.
- Click “Add Connection” then select your Windows IPv4 address.
- Click OK
iOS Device Setup:
At this point you should be ready to connect your iOS device to Audio Architect. Power ON your iOS device and make sure it is connected to the same network that Audio Architect and your HiQnet devices are connected to.
- Start HiQnet Motion Control. Your iOS device should be detected and then display in the Discovered Devices tree in Venue Explorer. Be patient, this may take some time.
- Make sure your iOS device is displayed in the Venue Explorer window. If it is not, your network is not set up correctly. Ensure that your IP address configuration is correct as described above. Click and drag your iOS device onto the Venue.
- Double click on the iOS icon in the Venue to assign the Custom Panel to the iOS device.
- A window will pop up. Click “Select to add...” and in the drop-down menu select the panel you wish to assign.
- Click OK.
Motion Control should now be controlling the assigned parameters within Audio Architect.
ADVANCED iOS SETUP:
In the event that an iOS device has been setup on the Audio Architect Venue before connecting to the network, the HiQnet address will need to be assigned manually. You will first need to obtain the HiQnet address of your iOS device.
- Double-tap on the screen of your iOS device, and click the Settings icon. Note the HiQnet address.
- In Audio Architect, click on the number next to the iOS device name. It should then be highlighted.
- Enter the HiQnet Address on the previously added Motion Control device.
- Go online, then drag the discovered device from Venue Explorer to the previously added Motion Control device to match.
- Synchronize Venue, ensure Audio Architect is in Run Venue mode.
The venue must be online in order to upload the Motion Control panels to the app.
