What you will need:

• Windows computer.  
• ZonePRO GUI Designer (available for free on the dbx website).  
• Null modem/crossover serial cable (a straight through cable will not work).  
• RS232-to-USB adapter if you don't have an RS232 port on your computer (most modern computers do not).   

Ho​w to get connected:

1. Turn on the ZonePRO unit and connect it to the computer in this order: ZonePRO > Null Modem cable > RS232-to-USB adapter (if you need it) > computer.  
2. After you have connected your ZonePRO, you must change the baud rate/bit rate of the port on the computer to match the ZonePRO.  
   1. Open your computer's device manager. 
   2. Go to the “Ports" section and find your device/adapter. 
   3. Right-click it, and go to Properties.  
   4. Click on the “Port Settings" tab. 
   5. Change the “bits per second" value to 57600. 
   6. Then, hit OK.  
   7. Also, make sure you remember the COM port number listed next to your device/adapter.  
3. Now, you may open the ZonePRO GUI Designer software.  
4. Within ZonePRO GUI Designer, open the Networking Wizard.  
   1. Click Network, then Properties.  
   2. Make sure that “Use serial ports" is checked and that the specific COM port that you're using is checked.  
   3. Uncheck all unused COM ports and Use Ethernet box. 
   4. Hit Finish.  
5. Click Network again, then Go Online.  
6. After a few seconds, a ZonePRO unit should appear in color.  
7. You are now connected.
