Question:
What is the pan and tilt auto calibration in the MAC Ultra series?
Answer:
Pan and tilt functions on the MAC Ultra series may occasionally fail due to various factors. The pan and tilt auto-calibration feature, introduced in firmware version 2.0.1, can resolve many of these issues. Auto-calibration can be initiated from any pan or tilt position and is accessible through the service menu: Service → Adjust → P/T Auto Calibration.
You can run the auto calibration when the following failures occur:
- Free movement, the fixture needs to have full range of movement in pan and tilt to successfully complete the auto calibration.
- PSER – PAN SENSOR ERR – If the pan driver PCBA does not register enough hall sensors or magnets, faulty sensor PCBA or missing magnets.
- FBEP – PAN FBACK ERR – If the pan driver PCBA cannot communicate with the absolute encoder sensor placed on the end of the pan motor or if the fixture is kept from going to a certain position for 10 seconds.
- TIER – TILT SENSOR ERR – If the tilt driver PCBA does not register enough hall sensors or magnets, faulty sensor PCBA or missing magnets.
- FBET – TILT FBACK ERR – If the tilt driver PCBA cannot communicate with the absolute encoder sensor placed on the end of the tilt motor or if the fixture is kept from going to a certain position for 10 seconds.
-
PTCM – PT SENSOR ADJUST – If pan or tilt doesn't have valid or any calibration values.
Note
The pan and tilt auto calibration can be started from any pan and tilt position.
