FIRMWARE UPDATE BUG

We have identified a bug when attempting to update the firmware on the EON ONE MK2 with version v5.0.9.0 using iOS 26.
We are actively working on a permanent fix.  In the meantime, you can use the following workaround.

Alternatively, the firmware update can be completed successfully using an Android device, with no workaround required.

Brand:

  • JBL

Models:

  • EON ONE MK2

Overview:

This article provides troubleshooting steps to help prevent a firmware update failure on the EON ONE MK2 when using an iPhone or iPad running iOS 26 to update the speaker from firmware version v5.0.9.0 to version v5.3.2.0.

A) Establish a new connection.

  1. Go to iPhone/iPad Settings > Bluetooth Settings, find the EON ONE MK2 speaker, and select Forget This Device.
  2. Uninstall the JBL Pro Connect app.
  3. Factory reset the speaker.

B) Firmware Update

  1. Start Firmware Update on JBL Pro Connect App.

  2. Once JBL Pro Connect app is opened, it will automatically detect that a firmware update is required.
Press the “Refresh” Icon to start firmware update.

  3. Press “CPU” Icon to start the firmware update to v5.3.2.0 in the app.
Bluetooth pairing request will be displayed, select Pair.

  4. Monitor the progress bar.  After it reaches 100%, it will remain at that point for approximately 15–20 seconds before completing update.

Timing is Crucial

As soon as the status changes to "Rebooting the loudspeaker…,"

Immediately force-close (swipe away) the JBL Pro Connect app.

C) Reconnect your Speaker

  1. Go to iPhone Settings > Bluetooth and Remove/Forget the EON ONE MK2 speaker again.

  1. Re-open the JBL Pro Connect app and wait for the "Bluetooth Pairing Request" pop-up, select “Pair”.

NOTE:

Immediately after selecting “Pair”, the speaker LCD will turn OFF and will finish rebooting.
If the speaker's LCD remains on after selecting "Pair," the process was not completed correctly.

  1. Once the speaker has rebooted, verify that the unit has been updated successfully to the latest firmware version.
After confirming the update is complete, perform a factory reset on the unit.

Ready to use.

You can now proceed to normal operation as if the speaker was new out of the box.
