How can I connect to my DVX-4K other than over the network?
Answer:
You have 2 options to connect to the DVX-4K besides the LAN port:
- Connect the PC direct to the ICSLAN port on the back of the DVX-4K
- Make sure the PC is set for DHCP
- Connect using Netlinx Studio, web browser, or telnet to 198.18.0.1
- Connect the PC to the USB B port on the front the the DVX-4K
- In Netlinx Studio Connection Manager select the USB tab and connect to the unit.
- From here and can quickly find the IP information for the DVX-4K in the online tree.
Additional Information:
- Connection over the network via the LAN or ICSLAN port is preferred over USB for speed reasons.
- It is highly recommended after connecting USB to get IP information to switch to a network connection.
- It is NOT recommended to load firmware via USB
