Overview:
The DSD program is a system design engineering tool that calculates and displays the number of ceiling and/or pendant loudspeakers needed to cover a room.
Installation:
DSD is only available for Windows
- Go to the Distributed System Design product page, download and install it.
How to Use It:
- Open the application from your start menu.
The following screen will appear:
- Click on Distributed System Design > New Design
- Name your project and choose the dimensions (ft) of your room.
For pendant speakers choose the height from the floor to the grill, not to the ceiling.
- Choose the Speaker Mode along with the configuration it will be set to (8ohms or 70v).
- Next, choose the intended type of array [square or hexagonal] and the coverage for the room.
The bigger the coverage, the more speakers it will use with a smaller dB level variation between sections.
- When all the parameters have been filled, click OK. A top view plot will show up with a proposed distribution.
If you wish to modify any parameters of your design, simply click on Revise Design on adjust accordingly.
