Overview:

To place a custom logo on an Acendo Book, the logo needs to be available via a HTTP server.  An AMX NX controller has an HTTP server and could be temporarily setup to serve this purpose.  Here is the process:

1) Turn off the authentication requirement of the NX.

    a. In a web browser go to the NX controller’s IP address.

    b. Login in to the controller.  Default user/password is administrator/password.

    c. Navigate to the Security/General settings.

    d. Uncheck “Authentication On Server Ports” and accept the popup Warning.

    e. At the bottom of the page select “Accept.”  You will be notified to reboot the device.

    f. Please reboot the controller following the link or by manually cycling power.

2) Once the controller has completed the reboot, upload the logo file using a FTP method.  (Alternatively upload via NetLinx Studio.  Example not shown.)

    a. Open File Explorer on your pc.

    b. In the address field create a FTP connection to the controller such as this: ftp://198.18.0.1/

    c. Drag or copy/paste the desired logo file into the current folder.

-Hint: Keep the name of the file short as this name will need to be entered manually on the panel later.

3) Import the logo file into the Scheduler Settings.

    a. Access the Scheduler Settings and navigate to the “Room” section.

    b. You may need to select “Edit.”

    c. If no previous image exist, select “Add.”  If replacing an image select “Delete” then “Add”.

    d. Enter the full URL of the image.  Example: http://198.18.0.1/HarmanLogo.png

    e. Select “Preview”.  If successful it will show you how the image looks on green and on red backgrounds.

     f. Click “Add”.  A sample of the logo will appear on the Room page.

    g. Click “Save” and exit the Scheduler Settings.

    h. The Logo should appear on the panel’s main page

The logo is stored on the panel permanently until deleted or by factory reset.  There is no need to keep the hosting URL active.  You may return the controller to the previous state with “Authentication on Server Ports” re-enabled.

JPG and PNG images are accepted.  PNG is recommend for transparency.  The Logo area is 375 x 165 with an aspect ratio of 2.27:1.  Larger and smaller images will be scaled to fit this area.  It is recommended to prepare the image to fit the pixel area to avoid any scaling.  Also, since the area is relatively small, consider cropping margins.  For example, here is the Harman logo with minimal top and bottom margins on a canvas size of 375 x 165:
