Wire Tags | Virtual View - AVX Architect
This video explains how to use wire tags in AVX Architect to connect objects that are far apart in the workspace. Wire tags help clean up design files and make them easier to read. You’ll also learn different ways to copy and paste wire tags for faster workflow.

In this video, we’ll continue to explore the virtual view of AVX Architect and look at Wire Tags. A Wire Tag is an object with an input and an output that acts as a representation of a wire. Useful for cleaning up views that might be hard to read due to too many wires. This Dante input to output represents the function of the Wire Tag. Even though there is not a visible wire connection between the two Wire Tag points, the connection is made and audio will make it from Dante input to output through the Wire Tag.
Wire tags could be helpful in a design that looks like this example. With so many wire points crossing over, it can quickly become difficult to read or follow. Using Wire Tags, we can easily clean this up to look something more like this that is much easier to read while following the exact same routing. Wire Tags can also be useful for cleanly connecting objects that are on the other side of the canvas. The Wire Tag can be found at the bottom of the Virtual and System Libraries. You can also right-click directly in the canvas and select Wire Tag, or use the shortcut “Control, Shift, ‘T’”.
In the Properties Window, we have our usual object name and workspace location, but there is no DSP allocation for a Wire Tag. The channel count of the Wire Tag can be changed in the Options section, and the color of the Wire Tag can be changed here under the “Fill”. Color can be selected by the classic color picker, or by manually entering the RGBA or Hex values to dial in specific colors. You can also copy/paste Wire Tags, but they will behave differently depending on whether you copy the input or the output block. If we copy the output block then paste, we get an exact copy of the output block, essentially making this a Y from this input to these outputs. Copying the input block will copy the whole Wire Tag. Now when you paste after copying the input block, we get both the input and output blocks pasted
