In this tutorial, we explore the Logic Delay and Timed Delay objects in the Virtual View of AVX Architect. Learn where to find these objects in the Virtual Library, how they work, and how to configure their properties for DSP logic processing. Both objects delay the incoming logic input state by user-defined times, making them essential for creating timed control sequences in AV systems.

In this video, we’ll continue to explore the Virtual view of AVX Architect and look at the various Logic Processing Objects. The Logic Delay and Timed Delay objects are found in the Virtual view, under Logic, in the Processing section. The output of both Logic Delay and Logic Timed Delay will follow the input but will be delayed according to the values set in the Options. Remember that these objects do not function as an audio delay.
Logic Delay uses timing values in 100ms steps up to 54.6 minutes, while the Logic Timed Delay uses timing values in seconds and is intended for long delays up to 546 minutes and will reference to the real time clock of the device. The delay following a low level at the input can be set independently of that for a high level at the input. In this example, we’ve set the Delay On to 1 second, and the Delay Off to 3 seconds. This means that the input must be held high for at least one second before the output will drive high. Once the output is driven high, it will take 3 seconds for the output to go low after the input goes low.
