For all technicians and customers, we offer a tool that enables you to view all parts in a product. This tool is called Martin Partsfinder, and it shows our Martin fixtures in 3D.
This allows you to see how the product is assembled.
Furthermore, it helps you identify the spare parts you need.
Martin Partsfinder is an offline tool, so you can still use it when a network connection is not available.
The 3D Parts Finder is a two-part system:
1: The fixture 3D files are found and downloaded in the desktop version of the Martin Companion Fixture Toolkit (minimum version 2.2.0).
2: The third-party SOLIDWORKS Composer Player software is used to open and manipulate those files.
Before you begin working with Martin Partsfinder, you need to download the SOLIDWORKS Composer Player software, which is a free program provided by the company that develops SOLIDWORKS CAD software.
The program is NOT available for Apple Mac/iOS or Android devices.
Minimum hardware requirements* for Composer Player:
- OS: Windows 10/11 64 bit. RAM: 4 GB or more.
- Video card: A graphics adapter with 3D OpenGL acceleration is required for optimal performance. AMD (AMD FirePro) and NVIDIA (NVIDIA Quadro FX) are highly recommended. OpenGL 3.2 or higher is required for some advanced rendering effects.
- Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo (or similar).

Performance issues experienced even when the minimum requirements are met are not supported.
Some hardware configurations may not provide smooth performance, and some lower-spec hardware may perform better than higher-spec hardware depending on the configuration.
Some models will take longer to open than others due to file size and hardware configuration.
How to Download the SOLIDWORKS Composer Player:
- Download the free software from the SOLIDWORKS support downloads page:
https://www.solidworks.com/support/free-downloads
- In the Downloads pane, select Composer Player/Add-in (64).
- Save the downloaded .exe file to your device, double-click the file, and extract it to a suitable location:
- Click Unzip.
- Click OK.
- Follow the install wizard.
- SOLIDWORKS Composer Player is now installed on your device.
How to Get Martin Companion Desktop
Download the desktop version of the Martin Companion Fixture Toolkit from Martin.com (https://www.martin.com/en/products/companion-desktop).
Installing the Martin Companion Desktop Software:
During installation, you will be asked which files to download automatically. Here, you can choose to sync all files or only the latest files. Other files can then be downloaded when needed.
With the increasing number of firmware packages and Martin Partsfinder models available, syncing all cloud files can result in a large download.
Cloud Synchronization Mode can be changed later through the Preferences menu, or specific Martin Partsfinder models can also be downloaded one at a time.
Finding the Martin Partsfinder in Martin Companion Desktop:
First time opening the Martin Companion please wait for the cloud synchronization to finish. The progress is shown in the lower-left corner.
Then select Partsfinder from the menu.
To view a product, select Product Range -> Product -> Component -> Open Component. SOLIDWORKS Composer Player will then open the file.

Helpful Tips for Navigation:
Use the middle (scroll) and right mouse buttons to zoom, move, and rotate the model.
Left-click the model to further “explode” it.
Depending on the item you click, it will explode into different views, modules, or assemblies.
Continue clicking until the model can no longer be exploded.
The thumbnails in the top-left corner allow you to return to a specific level of the explosion.
Hover over an item to view its part number.
Notes:
If no part number is shown, the item is likely a Non-Orderable Item.
Non-Orderable Items will often become “ghosted” as you continue to explode the fixture.
Some parts are only available as part of a larger assembly and are not sold individually.
If an item is marked as Non-Orderable, navigate back through the explosion levels until you identify an assembly number (displayed in the bottom-left corner).
Example: An LED is not available as a standalone part. It must be purchased as part of a calibrated assembly (including the heat sink) due to requirements such as thermal bonding to the heat sink.
