In this video, we’re going to give a quick overview of the AVX Manager software. AVX Manager is used to view devices connected to your network, change network information on those devices, manage firmware, and more. AVX Manager can be launched from AVX Architect or standalone by searching for it in your applications.
Once open, you will see a table containing all the devices that are discovered in the current subnet of your computer. We can see here that I’ve got a 256p processor and its embedded Muse processor. Each item in the list will display its manufacturer, family, model, location which is a user defined field, its current IP address which can be copied to the windows clipboard or edited by clicking this gear icon. The device serial number. The current firmware version. If you mouse over this download arrow, it will show you the most recent firmware version available on the cloud server. A status button showing if the device is running or not. This last menu button, which will give you options to locate, reboot, or factory reset the device. The devices in this list can be sorted using these drop down selections in the top-right of the table, and can be sorted by Status, location, or class.
Selecting a device from the list, we get a few extra options in the bottom right of the window. Launch Webpages, to launch any embedded webpages that might exist for the device. Transfer Files, for transferring media to a device. Another option for updating the firmware. And lastly, a Configure button which will open a new window allowing deeper configuration of the device’s network settings, including options for the HControl ports and the Dante cards for the device.
In the upper left corner you’ll find the hamburger menu, which contains the usual help documentation, End user license agreements, and credits. The current version of AVX manager is also displayed at the bottom. The “Manage Subnet Devices”, will allow you to add and manage an additional subnet. Simply add the subnet ip address here and submit, and we would be able to discover all devices in that subnet. Finally, the Device Events Log will show the events logged for all the devices found under the Device Discovery pane. The logs can also be sorted using the options in the top right, exported using the export button, and refreshed using the refresh button.
