Single Pulse Trigger - Logic Processing | AVX Architect
In this tutorial, we cover the Single Pulse Trigger object in the Virtual View of AVX Architect. Learn where to find it in the Virtual Library, how it works, and how to configure its properties for DSP logic processing. The Single Pulse Trigger outputs a high pulse for a user-defined duration whenever the input is driven high, making it ideal for creating timed logic events in AV systems.

In this video, we’ll continue to explore the virtual view of AVX Architect and look at the various Logic Processing Objects. The Single Pulse Trigger will pulse its output high in response to its input going high and remain high for a pre-defined period of time.
The Single Pulse Trigger has no control panel, and all the settings are set under Options in the properties window. Off Time is the time before the output turns on high when the input is detected in steps of 100ms. On Time is the time that the output will remain on, also in steps of 100ms. Last is the Behavior setting. In this example, we’ve got a simple circuit with a logic source to toggle on the Single Pulse. I’ve set the Off Time to 100ms and the On Time to 2 seconds so we can see the difference in modes.
The default Type is Ignore Input During Pulse. This means that the logic object will behave is it has been set, regardless of any changes to the input during the set period for the pulse. If the Single Pulse is triggered, I can keep toggling the source and it will not interrupt the counter on the active Single Pulse. Restart Pulse on Low to High will restart the pulse period at any point when the input is taken high again. Notice how each time the source is on, the output of the Single Pulse will re-trigger. Cancel Pulse on High to Low will immediately set the output to low upon the input signal going low. When I turn the input low while the Single Pulse output is active high, then it will go low also.
