Discrete Converter - Logic Conversion | AVX Architect
In this tutorial, we cover the Discrete Converter object in AVX Architect’s Virtual View, which provides a continuous output state when conditions are met to trigger the binary input state. Learn where to find the Discrete Converter in the Virtual Library, understand conditions for the continuous output, and explore its properties and options for advanced logic control.

In this video, we’re going to continue covering Logic Objects in the Virtual view and talk about the Discrete Converter. The Discrete Converter can be found in the Conversion section of the Logic objects. The Discrete Converter will provide a continuous output state when conditions set by the configuration are met by the incoming Logic or GPI source. In this example, I have a binary logic source connected to this Percentage Converter.
Let’s start with the factory panel for the Discrete Converter. I’m also going to open the control for this Logic Source. The factory panel will display two conditions based on whether the input state is on or off, and the output value can be set by using these faders or by typing in the value directly. We can see that changing the state of the logic source will toggle between these two output states for the converter. In the Options section, we can change the mode from Fader to Selector. In selector mode, we can now set the number of states here in the Options. With only two states, this object will behave just like the Fader mode. Let’s change this to 4 states. The percentage provided at the output will be a division of the number of states not counting the first or 0% state. So here, the 100% will be divided into states 2, 3, and 4. As the input state remains on and we cycle through the states, we can see the values of 33, 67, and 100%. This object is most useful when taking these state selectors and incorporating them with other forms of control or logic to switch between them.
