Dashboard - Managing Projects | AVX Architect

Video Manual Series

Written by Tony Smith

Updated at October 30th, 2026

In this video, we expand on the AVX Architect dashboard and show you how to manage projects. Learn how to create new projects, import project files from your computer, export projects to your computer, and even import files directly from a Soundweb OMNI device.

Transcript
In this video, we’ll continue to explore the Dashboard of AVX Architect. In the last video, we covered the basics of the Dashboard, and now we’re here to expand on project management basics.
From the Dashboard, you can create a new project by clicking the “Create New Project” button, or by clicking the hamburger button in the top left and selecting it from the file menu. Either way, we get the Create New Project window, where we can name our project and add a description. Clicking “Create” will finish the process and take us into our newly created project. The project name is shown here in the top left. Remember that since these projects are databases, any changes we make are committed instantly with no need to save. The shortcut to export a project file is “Control, Shift, S”, which will bring up the export window. Project files default to save in the “Documents/Harman Pro/AVX Desktop” folder.
Exported project files can then be imported by the “Import from Computer” option. Useful for backups or sharing project files across users or computers. The prompt will then open the default location in the “AVX Desktop” folder, and we can open a file that was previously exported. We then get a warning that is telling us that a new project will be added to this computer’s database, and that new changes we make won’t be saved to the exported AVX Project file. The last option is “Import from Device Network”. If you have an OMNI device connected to the network, then this option will allow you to import the AVX Project file from the device, just like importing from the local drive. This window will show our all device, as well as the projects on the network file and the time that it they were was last deployed. If you have multiple devices projects on the network, you can select between them with the “Devices” button to get a drop down list of all the devices on the network that are hosting that project. Click “Import” and the project file will be imported to the Dashboard.
