Question:
Why does my newer JEM AF-1 MkII have a different fan blade count to my older units?
Answer:
For over 20 years...The original AF1 and newer AF1-MkII fan units had a 9 blade fan installed.
This has now (after all this time) become obsolete from the supplier so a new comparable fan has been sourced.
The newer AF1-MkII fan units now have a 5 blade fan installed.

Any 230V unit after serial 14509793701 (production date 1st March 2023)
or any 115V unit after serial 14509794101 (production date 3rd April 2023) will have the new 5 blade fan installed.
If an older '9 blade' fixture is received for fan unit repair it will have the new 5 blade fan unit installed.
This new 5 blade fan will move more air and will possibly be slightly louder in operation compared to the older 9 blade unit.
