Which Control Port Should Be Used With Networked A/V Distribution Devices

Rating

Question:

There are two control ports (50001 and 50002) to control Networked A/V end points, which one should be used for third-party control?

Answer:

For third-party control of Networked A/V endpoints, it's best practice to use port 50002. Port 50001 is generally utilized by N-Able, and each port only supports a single active connection.

Note: Port 50004 is dedicated to serial control, providing a direct, bidirectional connection to the RS-232 port.
