What are the cabling requirements for a Vi or Si Stagebox?

Answer:

Cat5e or Cat6 UTP Solid Core. The requirement is Cat5e or Cat6 UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) Solid Core. This must be a direct, point to point connection with no patch points or connections inline.

What about shielded cable?

Other types of cable may work but, due to Soundcraft's proprietary control signals (preamp and phantom power control, as preamps are in the Stagebox itself), shielding interferes with this signal and can cause the Stagebox to not stay locked correctly. You may actually receive audio but have no lock or control.

What about stranded cable?

Stranded cable, due to the air gaps between strands, should be avoided as well.
