How can I prevent adjusting the wrong channel by mistake?
Sometimes, you may be adjusting the wrong channel because the wrong channel is selected.  How can this be avoided?

As a rule of​ habit, hit Select on the channel or output every time you are about to make adjustments.  Even if it is a channel you were just working on earlier and may already be selected.  This will ensure that you are adjusting controls on the correct channel. 

If you follow this rule, you will make sure you are never adjusting the wrong channel.  ​
