Question:
How do I connect 2 Soundcraft Consoles together using the same stagebox?
Answer:
One setup is as a single console connection using MAIN and AUX connection from Stagebox to console, the AUX being used as a redundant backup in case the MAIN fails.
The second usage is using the MAIN and AUX outs as a “split". The MAIN is connected to one console and the AUX to another. The MAIN console has preamp & phantom power control (as preamps and phantom power are in Stagebox itself, as well as HI Pass filter on Vi stageboxes). The MAIN console will also have access to Stagebox outputs. The 2nd console will receive audio from all inputs on the AUX connector as a MADI stream. The 2nd console will not see a Stagebox lock and will just choose MADI inputs for their digital input source. That console will have digital trim (+10 to -10), but no access to outputs on Stagebox either.
