What is noise floor?

Answer:

The noise floor is the level at which background electrical noise can be heard.   it is the "quietest" level one can achieve in a recording or sound system.   Hiss from the noise floor can sometimes be heard from speakers when amplifiers are turned way up.  Usually this noise is only noticed when other audio is not present.
