Question:
How do I use the Auto EQ feature when using a mono out configuration?
Answer:
You can use the PA2 to tune a single speaker. Follow the instructions below when working with a single mono output.
- Connect the main cabinet to the left low output.
- Dial up and load Preset 40 (avoid running the system set up Wizard).
- Skip the Auto Level Feature and run the AEQ (Auto EQ Only)
- When the WIZARD button is pressed, select RUN SETUP WIZARD rather than RUN ALL WIZARDS.
- Afterwards, Press Wizard and select RUN AUTO EQ/LEVEL ASSIST then scroll down and choose Auto EQ only. (Make sure the output switches below your output meters are un-muted before running the AEQ Wizard.)
NOTE:
Preset 40 uses a default mono Full Range output on the left low output. This means that the auto EQ will not look for a right output connection during the AEQ process.
If you need to, you can still enter the crossover and manually adjust the crossover settings. The post PEQ is typically only required with certain speaker models when bi-amping. In the case of your passive speaker, you may want to check the spec sheet for the speaker to find out if there are any required crossover or PEQ (parametric EQ) tunings that need to be manually entered before running the AutoEQ.
