How to set up AKG DMM8 UL automixer to create a discussion system
1. Choose the microphones you would like to use and connect them via regular XLR cables with the DMM8 UL.
In case of using condenser microphones, the device can provide phantom power for channel 1&2 and/or channel 3&4 at the same time.

2. With using a standard IEC cable plug in the unit and turn it on.
3. Make sure your channels are routed to the output.
- Press and hold the „OUT" knob and all the channels will show their routing status.
- By default all the channels are routed to the output but you can enable/disable each with turning the channel knobs clockwise/counter clockwise.
- The routing function is active till the "OUT" button is being hold.
- Once you are done you can release the button.
- You can use the same method in routing to "HEADPHONE".
4. On the front panel set the input levels to 0dB which is indicated with a brighter LED.
5. Turn the "SYSTEM CONTROL" knob to "Level" and press it once, then the Level LED starts blinking and a level meter is now active on each channel.
6. Now you need to speak into the microphone and set the input gain on the rear panel till you get the desired level. Don't exceed the 0 dB indicated on the front.

7. Set up and gain all the microphones with repeating point 4 to 6.
8. Connect and turn the PA on and gain it till some small feedback arrives.
9. Turn the „SYSTEM CONTROL" knob to „AUTOMIXING" and with using the channel knobs you can activate/disable the required channels.
10. Now you have a stable system, but of course you can set more details with using EQ, compression, limiter, etc. on it.
