This article explains the location and purpose of the bootloader switch on the Martin MAC Quantum and MAC Encore series light fixtures. This switch is used during firmware recovery or reinstallation procedures.
This switch is also sometimes accidently pressed and activated unknowingly after maintenance or repairs.
Bootloader Switch Location
The bootloader switch on the MAC Quantum Profile/Wash and the MAC Encore Performance/Wash is located inside the base of the fixture, on the main display
Power off and unplug the fixture completely.
Place the fixture on a secure, static-safe work surface.
Remove the base cover by loosening the screws (typically Torx or Philips-head).
Carefully lift the cover to expose the internal electronics.
Look for a small tactile switch near the edge of the main display control PCB.
Note: Use caution when handling internal components to avoid ESD (electrostatic discharge) damage.
