Problem:

When I launch the Glaciator Dynamic PC Config Tool I get a 'side-by-side configuration' error and it doesn't open.

The error message:

“This application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect.

Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail."

Solution:

Your Windows install is missing the required 32Bit VC++ Redist 2008 files.

It does not matter if your Windows install is 64Bit or 32Bit…you need the 32Bit file (It is a 32Bit program).

Download from here:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=26368

and choose vcredist_x86.exe (4.3MB)

Install the file and the Config Tool should now open.​
